The clayish slate soil yields produce wines with lively acidity. Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Kerner grow best in these slopes. Rheinhessen extends over an area of about 25.000 ha(62.500 acres) which is a quarter of the total German wine growing areas. The Rheinhessen area is also well known for its heavy ground, with its special advantage to be very fertile. The harmonious climate, warm summers and mild winters, is typically for this growing area. Rheinhessen wines are carefully treated for example by fermentation at low temperatures and by limited air feeding.<BR>Niersteiner Gutes Domtal QbA is a medium bodied, fragrant wine with upfront fruit, a touch of spice and a mild soft finish. The wine is racy, delicate and with a pronounced acidity. The wine from that part of Rheinhessen is very mild, soft and elegant. The wines taste medium-bodied with a complex flavour.</P> <P><STRONG><SPAN class=headline1><STRONG>Bereich Bingen Spätlese<BR></STRONG></SPAN></STRONG><BR>The wine is produced from fully ripened grapes and exhibits elegance and full bodied fruit characteristics with a perfectly balanced finish.
